"The Ghost Swift".

In my first Pathway project, I had chosen the word ‘Characteristics’ to work with. Inspired by the photographer, Kirsty Mitchell, I wanted to create my own characters then held their own story. I started by creating a mixed-media collage of her famous image, “The Ghost Swift”. I used media such as pencil, soft pastel, oil pastel, fine liner and ink, and materials such as ripped wallpaper, various paper, book pages, tracing paper and scrap fabrics. Doing this helped me to come up with my own character concepts as well as develop in the use of mixed media.
