This image exhibits one of the many characters I have created
for my interpretations project, ‘The Keeper of Memories’. In a world where
people become preoccupied with worrying about unnecessary things, my character
represents past times via deterioration. Like slipping through an hour glass,
her sad expression signifies forgotten memories.
I’ve been heavily influenced by Kirsty Mitchell’s Wonderland series and how each of her characters has their own stories that entwine with
one another. I have used photography processes, mixed-media, Digital work,
tea-staining, old photographs, story book pages and forgotten keepsakes to
create work that evokes a sense of nostalgia.
